Casting call for The MAC Players Production of A Year With Frog and Toad, for Young Audiences.

Originally presented on Broadway by Bob Boyett, Adrianne Lobel, Michael Gardner, Lawrence Horowitz and Roy Fuman

World Premiere at The Children’s Theatre Company Minneapolis, Minnesota

Waking from hibernation in the Spring, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn life lessons along the way. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special. Part vaudeville, part make believe… all charm, A Year with Frog and Toad tells the story of a friendship that endures throughout the seasons.

AUDITION DATES: 
Mon, Oct 21 from  6-10 pm | Callbacks: Thur, Oct 24 from 6-10 pm

PRODUCTION DATES: 
Wed, Dec at 4 at 10 am | Fri, Dec 6 at 4 pm | Sat, Dec 7 at 2 pm | Sun, Dec 8 at 2 pm

REHEARSALS:
Start on or around Oct 28 and will be held on Mon, Tues, Thurs and Sat Evenings. 

AUDITION INFORMATION
Please prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show.An accompanist will be provided or please bring tracks for your selection. 
Callbacks will take place on Oct 24.  Movement auditions will be at the Callbacks.

ROLES:

ALL ROLES AVAILABLE:

Frog
Caring and loyal. Always looking out for his friends. The calmer, more zen of both he and Toad. Simultaneously adventurous and assured.
Age: 30 to 50 | Vocal range top: A4 | Vocal range bottom: A2

Toad
A hard worker, but impatient for results. Self-conscious. Stubborn. A good friend to Frog. Timid.
Age: 30 to 50 | Vocal range top: A4 | Vocal range bottom: A2

Snail et al
Must possess the blind determination of a nerdy snail and the “cool kid” attitude of a slick lizard. Appears as MAN BIRD, SNAIL, LIZARD, FATHER FROG, and MOLE.
Age: 20 to 60 | Vocal range top: B4 | Vocal range bottom: Bb2

Mouse et al
Fun, intelligent, and quick-witted. Must also possess the quirky and bright eyed personality of a lady bird, strong frenetic energy of a squirrel and cleverness of a young Frog. Appears as LADY BIRD 1, MOUSE, SQUIRREL, YOUNG FROG, and MOLE.
Age: 20 to 50 | Vocal range top: A5 | Vocal range bottom: A3

Turtle et al 
A gossip and a “rabble-rouser” and loves to get the whole gang to tease Toad in fun! Must also possess the playful and quirky personality of a lady bird, fast-talking and mischievousness of a squirrel and loving nature of a mother frog. Appears as LADY BIRD 2, TURTLE, SQUIRREL, MOTHER FROG, and MOLE.
